Week 4 Insights

The thing I loved most this week was definitely one of the insights I learned from the reading. 1st Corinthians 12:27-30.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

We are all children of God, and we each have the talents and gifts we have for a reason.We have to remember that we can’t compare ourselves to others because we are all made exactly the way God intended and I absolutely love that. It's something that we all need to remember.

Week 2 Insights

I'm just going to ignore the whole blog thing and just write as if I'm talking to myself (Also I don't know how to format this, so I'm sorry) This week we read a few chapters of Acts. Honestly I have never gotten much out of my religion classes, they just don't do anything for me. This week was different though, because when I chose the verses to write about, they immediately stood out to me as if they were being screamed at me. My favorite being Saul and how even with all he did to upset Heavenly Father and actively went against him, even he was able to repent. Even going so far as to be a completely new person with a new name. That gives me a lot of hope for how maybe I won't be a lost cause with all my mistakes.

Week 8 Insights

Week 8 Insights My favorite thing I read about this week was in First Timothy 1:15- "This is a faithful saying , and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners ; of whom I am chief."  I know I said this in my reading report thing, but I absolutely love when apostles remind us that they're still sinners just like the rest of us. Often we look at them like they are perfect people who can do no wrong, but Paul owns it and just says, Christ came to save all sinners, and Lord knows I have sinned.  We have to embrace our sins I think. We acknowledge them, repent of them, and move on. There is no reason to dwell on them or worry, because we're just going to make another mistake within the next day. At the end of the day, all that matters to Christ is whether we are trying our best. That's all he requires of us.

Week 12 Insights

Week 12 This week has definitely been rough for me, with all that is happening in the world, and even just in the town. A scripture that really comforted me as I was going about my week I found in 1st John 1:7. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." All we have to do is to keep trying to walk in the light. That light is essential for us. If we keep His commandments, we will be cleansed of our sins. Hopefully we can all walk in the light.
